My Dh and I have not been exactly what you would call "animal" people since we've been married.

We had a couple of dogs (one of which had to be given away because it bit our son). And he finally broke down and allowed the kids to have a cat a couple of years ago.

When we moved here almost two years ago, this cat ran away. I was kind of attached and hated that she was gone almost as much as my kids.

So, for almost two years, he had adamantly refused to let them have any kind of pets. No way, no how.

Two days ago, we got a new addition to our home. I'd like you all to meet Sydney. My middle son got to pick her out and my daughter got to name her.

In a few weeks, DH is allowing my oldest son to pick a chocolate lab puppy for his very own. And you guessed it, my daughter gets to name it.

I'm not sure how we went from a no pet family to having a calf, a cat, and a dog all within a few months. Whatever, right?

My question is this: What kind of pet do you have and how did you either litter train or house break your pet?

Tuesday, April 27, 2010

Well, the subject this Tuesday is:

if you were to get a tattoo right now, what would it be?

Well, I have to tell you...... I haven't found anything that I want on my body for the rest of my life.

I'm kind of ambiguous about tattoos. I don't want one, but I don't care if someone else wants to get one, does that make any sense? I won't allow my children to get one until they can sign for it themselves (although, I know the industry has made great strides in the cleanliness area) their father will not have it. And I want to make sure they know that tattoo will be with them forever. When they are 60 and sagging, that cute red rose they had put on their boob will become a long stem rose, know what I mean?

So, I guess the answer is I wouldn't get one. Wanna play, hop on over to Shannon's and link up.

Wow, can Shannon really get a good think going on with her questions. You know, at first, they seem innocent enough, then the indecision starts and I'm waffling all over the place. Today's question on TTT is:

if you could win unlimited shopping from one store, which one would it be?

At first, I'm all Wally World, Wally World. Then I think, no man. They have lots of stuff, but then the little voice shows up on one side of my head saying, "pick Target, pick Target". While the voice on the other side is screaming, "Go with Wally world, go with Wally world".
In the end, though, Target wins out simply because their furniture and housewares ROCK IT TO THE MOON and back.

So, if you want to play, head on over to Shannon's and don't forget to link up.

Hello everyone, I am a bad mother.

No, really. I am. Today, I allowed a 12 year old to push my buttons
and then I lost control of myself and began yelling and screaming and
carrying on to beat the band.
I'm not proud of it. But I am confessing it to you. I've asked for forgiveness.
But I don't really like who I am when something like that happens.
Why do I allow that to happen? Aren't I old enough to have better control
of myself?
Thanks for listening. I'm gonna go hide in the closet for a while.
Maybe I haven't screwed my kids up too badly. Maybe they will grow to
be productive members of society. Maybe......

Happy Saturday, everyone.......
Did y'all miss me? I haven't been blogging much this week. Or even reading the blogs of those that I follow. In short, I have sucked at being your blogging friend this past week. Usually, I get to them every other day. Not this week. I have slacked around and done none of that.
My excuse is.....the weather has been gorgeous and I have been hypnotized by it. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Today, in my little home city, the ENTIRE town had a yard sale. AT. THE. SAME. TIME. It stretched from one end of town to the other. The vendors had their treasures out for sale. Some were great, and some not so much. There was a booth where the local Lutheran church was selling BBQ dinners for a fundraiser. And trust me, the people came out of the woodwork. (I might have spent a buck or two). Our little town doesn't usually see this much action until summer when the big draw is tubing down the Ichetucknee river. Then for a few weeks, we are inundated with visitors to this beautiful, natural resource.
I hope all of you is having a great weekend and that the weather is getting better. Talk to y'all soon.

Today's question at Table Topic Tuesdays over at The Nut House is simply, if you could only have one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Hmmmm. Interesting question. Does it have to be just one thing? Can I pick like what I would eat for the entire day and consider that one meal? Just askin'.

I, too, LOVE carbs. And although, before last Sunday night, I would have said spaghetti (then I kind of had a puking night and I had eaten spaghetti for supper, so you understand, that is no longer on the list). So now, I'm kind of in a dilemma. I totally dig breads and pasta and stuff like that.

So, I'm gonna say that I would have to go with a nice crusted slab of cow. Yeah, a nice juicy hamburger. With a good crispy outside (gotta be cooked well done though, no red for me). With a slather of mayo, must, ketchup, pickles and onions. A side order of french fries, too. YUM-O!!

Yeah, that's what I'd eat.

Although, Shannon's choice is awesome too. Well, thanks Shannon. Now I have to go in the kitchen and rustle up some egg whites and a piece of toast and try to pretend it's a hamburger anyway.

If you wanna play, just hop on over and link up. I can't wait to hear what everyone chooses.
